40 years of history
LBA & AMCO have revolutionised the world of perimeter security with the launch of several innovative products that have become market standards.
Over the past 40 years, these innovations have not only made LBA & AMCO the market leader, but have also changed the whole approach to perimeter security and flow management.
Birth of La Barrière Automatique
In 1970, Georges Harhoura bought a small company that manufactured gates and installed fences. In 1984, he created La Barrière Automatique, which holds a patent for a compression spring.
The range of barriers is growing
La Barrière Automatique specialises in the manufacture and installation of boom barriers, including for lane closures, initially for a local market.
Creation of AMCO Les Escamotables
Two visionaries, Mr. Belaval and Mr. Murolo, join forces to create AMCO Les Escamotables. Their goal: to innovate in the world of perimeter security by creating the first retractable bollard.
The range grows
Development of the most extensive range of automatic barriers on the market.
Transition to indirect sales
Grégoire Harhoura completely transforms the company’s business: the transition to indirect sales. La Barrière Automatique develops its own network of installers by cultivating lasting relationships of trust.

Naissance de La Barrière Automatique
En 1970, Georges Harhoura rachète une petite entreprise de fabrication de portails et d’installation de clôtures. En 1984, il crée La Barrière Automatique détenant un brevet de ressort incassable à compression.

Our Amco High Security range is designed to secure the most sensitive sites, such as nuclear and military sites and public-access buildings. The precision and robustness of our security products are our top priority. Road blockers, tyre killers, security barriers and HVM bollards: our products are crash-tested to prove their ability to withstand the most violent intrusions, with vehicles of up to 12 tonnes travelling at 80 km/h.
Our Amco Urbaine range is specially designed to secure, control and manage access in towns and cities: demarcation of pedestrian zones, parking management and the protection of public buildings such as schools and stations. Security by Design is a unique, patented cladding concept that combines an attractive design with a robust finish. Without compromising on appearance or safety, clad your HVM bollards to blend in perfectly with the urban environment. We can help you design products that blend in perfectly with their surroundings. Our cladding is fully customisable and infinitely flexible: in terms of shape, finishing materials (wood, stone, concrete, vegetation) and connected options (Wi-Fi, USB charging port).
